Colombian City of Cali, funeral home workers were shocked to see a dead 45-year old woman who started to breath and move as they were preparing for her burial.
The woman was already declared clinically dead at a medical facility according to local media. She was already placed in the hospital with a serious neurological condition a day earlier.
Miguel Angel Saavedra, a doctor at the clinic where the woman was cared for, said that the patient’s vital signs gave no heart rate and blood pressure readings. The medical staff also signed her death certificate before transferring her dead body to a funeral home ready for burial.
The woman was in fact not actually dead, which physicians would call such cases as the “Lazarus Syndrome”. Saavedra says that the patient began to breathe again and made movements when they were about to apply formaldehyde on her.
The doctors said that the woman, whose name was revealed, was then readmitted to a hospital and is now in a coma.
